Love to Sing?

First of all, that is terrific.
We love to have new Chorus members, and all are welcome! No auditions are required, just a love of singing!
Here are a few things to know:

-
We will feature two fall concerts this year! On Saturday, October 25th at 7:30 p.m., we will present A Festival of Voices at First Presbyterian Church. We will combine with other area choirs to share our love of music and, through a goodwill donation, raise funds to benefit Blessings in a Backpack.

-
On Saturday, November 15th at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, we will perform An American Tapestry, featuring Randall Thompson's Frostiana, a setting of 7 Robert Frost poems, and Alex Berko’s Sacred Place, with texts by various American poets and writers that focus on the preservation and beauty of the earth. We will also collect food items for FISH Food Pantry at this concert. We will spread both the joy of singing, as well as goodwill, into our community this season.

-
We rehearse on Mondays from 7 pm to 9 pm. We will begin rehearsing for the fall concerts on Monday, August 25th, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church located at 101 North Prairie Street in Galesburg. The rehearsal space, as well as the performance venues, are accessible to all. Ramps and elevators are available as needed.

-
Auditions are not required to be a member of the Chorus. You simply show up on the first night of rehearsals a tad early to sign in and receive your music scores.

-
There is a music fee of $5 per semester, as well as a membership fee (for non-students) of $10 per semester. If you would like to sing, but are not able to pay these amounts, please contact the Business Manager.

-
We ask that all singers are ready to sing (with music and pencils out) at 7 pm sharp.
-
While we encourage singers to attend every rehearsal, we do realize that sometimes life interferes. Please let Tim know if you are unable to attend a rehearsal by adding this information to the attendance sheet at a prior rehearsal.

-
All Chorus members are required to wear all black, long sleeved, floor length dresses/skirts/pants at performances.
-
Masks are optional. If you are ill, we encourage you to practice independently.

*Please contact Tracy at galesburgchorusmanager@gmail.com with any questions. We hope to see you at rehearsals! All are welcome.
